Doogh (Persian Yogurt Drink)

Doogh Recipe (Persian Yogurt Drink) via Worthy Pause

I first had this Iranian drink called doogh at my in-laws’ house and I’d go as far as saying it’s 3052% more refreshing than most other beverages. Doogh is like a mint-yogurt frappé.

It’s a nice way to use up a little extra mint from the garden or from another recipe, or to serve before or after a heavy dinner since it’s meant to aid in digestion (yogurt + mint).

Doogh (Persian Yogurt Drink)

serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yogurt

  • 2-3 sprigs fresh mint

  • small pinch of salt

  • soda water

  • ice

Instructions

  1. Put the yogurt, mint and salt into a blender or use an immersion blender to fully liquify the mint.

  2. Then pour into a glass with ice, top with soda water and stir.

  3. Drink, then probably make another one because they are so good.
